What is Wholesale Line Rental (WLR)?
Similar to CPS WLR is a service that allows you to transfer your line rental from
BT to another communication provider. Whilst the line rental is branded and the
service is delivered by the alternative carrier, BT still provide, repair and maintain
the lines, through a division called
Openreach.
There is no difference in the quality of service and you can expect to achieve up
to 20% cost savings on the line rental and 40% on other services such as call divert,
call waiting, call forwarding etc. When WLR is used in conjunction with CPS the
service is called Single Billing-Wholesale Line Rental (SB-WLR) and customers receive
a single bill for both calls and line rental from your operator of choice.
The lines are usually migrated within a couple of weeks and a simple signed order
form is required for authorisation. No changes are needed to your lines and the
service supports all the BT Select Services you might have subscribed to.
